Data collection
Unsaid does not collect, store on servers, or transmit any personal data on its own. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no networking code in the app. The App Store privacy label for Unsaid is "Data Not Collected".
Contacts
If you grant contacts permission, Unsaid reads contact names and photos on your device solely to display them as recipients of your private, one-sided threads. Your contacts are never uploaded, shared, or transmitted, and nobody in your contacts is ever notified or messaged. Contacts permission is optional — you can add recipients manually instead.
Microphone
If you grant microphone permission, it is used only to record voice notes you create. Recordings are stored on your device and are never transmitted.
Photos
Photos are attached through Apple's system photo picker, which gives Unsaid only the specific images you select. They are stored on your device and are never transmitted by Unsaid. You can separately choose to share a message or photo through Apple's share sheet.
Your messages
Everything you write in Unsaid is stored locally on your device. If you choose "Send for real", Unsaid opens Apple's Messages app with your text prefilled — any actual sending happens there, by you, under your control. Deleting a thread ("Burn"), using "Erase everything", or deleting the app permanently removes the corresponding data from your device.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
