Does anything I write ever get sent?

No. Threads in Unsaid are one-sided by design, and the app contains no networking code — there is no technical way for it to send or upload anything on its own. If you explicitly choose "Share…" or "Send for real", iOS hands the selected content to the destination you choose.

Then what does "Send for real" do?

It opens Apple's Messages app with your text prefilled for the thread's contact. Nothing is sent unless you press send there yourself, in Messages.

Will my contacts know I write to them?

Never. Contacts permission only lets Unsaid show names and photos on your device. Nobody is notified, messaged, or contacted in any way. You can also skip the permission entirely and add people manually.

How do I delete things?

Long-swipe a thread (or use the flame in a thread) to Burn it, use Erase everything in settings, or delete the app — all data lives on your phone, so removing it removes everything.

Something's broken, or you have an idea?

Open an issue and it will be read — bug reports, feature ideas, and screenshots of cursed unsent texts (redacted, please) all welcome.
